Chandramukhi - Super Star

Movie : Chandramukhi

Language: TAMIL
Director:P.Vasu
Producer:Shivaji Productions

Cast: S U P E R S T A R - Rajnikanth !!! , Prabhu, Jyothika, Nayantara, Vadivel, Nasar Malavika, Vineeth, KR Vijaya

Music: Vidyasagar

SUPER STAR PATTAM : Flys high:

The movie was rumoured to be loosely based on the Fazil-directed Malayalam classic "Manichitrataazhu", which won Shobhana a National Award for her portrayal of a schizophrenic woman. In fact, the movie is a scene-by-scene adaptation - except for a few changes tailored to fit Rajni - of the original.

Unfortunately, "Chandramukhi" is not "Manichitrataazhu". It is a superstar film - from reel one to the last minute. He is in the thick of it all, starting with when he hits 30 hoodlums out of the screen - vintage Rajni fare that masses expect. Rajnikant as a mind-reading psychiatrist who also possesses Neo's ability to twist his body around bullets? Now, that's an unexpected twist!

STORY:

For the uninitiated, "Chandramukhi" is the story of a house haunted by the ghost of a dancer, who suffered severe depravities at the hands of an evil king (vetiya maharaja) years ago in the same place. Chnadramuki is a beautiful dancer who loves a dances, but the vetiyan king kills him as he like chandramuki, He also she kills her, she thus becomes a ghost and waits for a revenge. But the king prays, brings priest to look that ghost in a room in his house (He fnally dies naturally). When Jothika and prabhu buys the house after 200 yrs, She opens the door (just to know ehats inside - even after many telling nt even to see that place), get inspired by the Ghost story and slowly she becomes Chandramuki. Rajini understands the place initially and finds it without any trouble, so he recommends Prabhu to buy the house, but after she opens that door.... all trouble starts ..... Rajini comes back and solves all the trouble, he projects/maskes him as Vatiyan king in chandramukis mind and make the ghost (chandramuki) avenge him ....... CLIMAX : How he manages to escape from Ghost, how he saves Jothika, how he unites the faily is the climax

Rajni plays the role of Prabhu's psychiatrist friend who attempts to sort the whole sordid mess out. For most of the movie, however, he is the superstar and not his character, Dr. Saravannan. But then Rajni is a treat to watch for the multitudes who worship him and it is unlikely that any other portrayal of the man would be accepted by the audience. If you are a Rajni fan, you'll add Dr. Saravannan to your list of favourite characters - right up there with Annamalai, Padayappa and Baasha.

The movie is as much Jyothika's as it is Rajni's. However, she does not do as good a job of it as Rajni does. In fact, her eye-rolling and eyebrow-raising begin to grate after a while. she saya laka laka laka in the end ..... Which is as catchy as rajini says.

Comic relief is supplied by Vadivelu, whom I would call the villain of the movie - mainly because of his loud, irritating performance that even drowns the superstar's voice in many scenes, not to mention his slapstick comedy that is more likely to find its fans in kindergartens.

Talking of direction, P. Vasu has done a pretty decent job . The music by Vidyasagar is catchy, and Rajni is in his element as he dances away in a sherwani, in red cargos and white trainers, and atop the Alps wearing a colourful shirt and sunglasses.

If you are a fan of the Thalaivar, you've probably already watched the movie by the time this review hits the stands. If not, you can see it once.

Final 1/2 hour : CLIMAX

-s:

FIGHT (too much action for this story)
Acting (Rajini looks old)
Jothika acting (Not as shobana)

Overall, its a great story ...... Great stars and great movie to watch, considering Rajinis age, he has done extremely well. Laka laka laka laka stly is great, as vatiyan raja he looks great (almost like 45 not 55). Great songs, good comedy, little ghost style, good show for 3 months take movie. Finally great vasoooooool for rajini, shavaji filims and Vasu. Great fun for lakhs of people too !!

Dilution of Education

We all know about the status on B.E or BBA or B.L in India, there are as many colleges for engineering as total no. of students in 1980's. But still IIT is very famous, So many people apply for C.A, but still C.A qualified person is wanted everywhere, all these is due to quality of education. There is should be no dilution of Quality; I am seeing it now in MBA, mainly in private B-Schools

Now there are too many Engineers, Doctors and Management Graduates too. From IIM, XLRI SP Jain level to TAPMI, Symbiosis level to ICFAI, ITM, IIPM level to Local universities ... there are too many MBA's now. But there is a very high standards and quality in all top B-Schools - (claimed to be Top) except one college ….. Hope u guys can guess which Inst. I am talking about !!

There is a total dilution of quality, so many centers, so many students, No Library, No Lab, No proper Faculty, No campus, No Hostel, No good placement (not even 100%). Only too things that Inst. stands top: in Fee 4.5 lakhs now and No. of students it touches 2000 in all centers. GOD SAVE FUTURE STUDENTS OF THAT B-SCHOOL. How come rank 10 or 12 or 14 – So stupid ……………. All rating are bull shit. Meet alumni to know about the B-School. People still dont believe all these, many people are telling me that they want to get into privated B-Schools. Todays YOuth have no choices, No jobs, No Business, No Focus - so they get into the trap.

Hi All

I am Finally Back in Chennai after some sweet days back Home – I am currently working hard to complete my MRP Project as a requirement for the completion of my MBA at IBS. After completion of my Report, presentation and submission I will be leaving to Mumbai on 18th night to attend Cholamandelam AMC Training. On 25th April I have to Report in Chennai Office for my Job.

Monday, March 28, 2005

Happy Days

It’s a great feeling going back Home, I am almost done with my Final Project. After this I just have to submit a report and make a presentation. I have to join Cholamandelam AMC on 20th April - directly for training in Bombay. So I just got some time to go home for Freaking out and Enjoying.

I am very lucky to get some time to go Home and Enjoy, Most of my friends have already joined their Jobs - they are working too hard, now it self they have learned to Burn their Bums and Stomach in their Jobs. In IT and ITES companies, it’s the worst case scenario where people work at least for 12 hrs. They work too hard and come back to room as Zombies in late night or in the early morning. Marketing companies are little better as the work is not yet fully started. But most of my friends stay late night just for the sake of it; they don’t work all these 12 hrs.

Happy Holidays to all my Friends, BEST OF LUCK for their Jobs. I will be back from Coimbatore on 10th April,I Will leave to Bombay on 17th in Bombay Mail. My computer back home is not working, So no updates or blogging for the next 10 days.

It's not the fault of the student if he fails, because the year ONLY

2. Summer holidays-50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study.Days left 263.

3. 8 hours daily sleep- 130 days GONE. Days left 141.

4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days. Days left 126.

5. 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing
properly & swallowing)-means 30days. Days left 96.

6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal)-means
15 days. days left 81.

7. Exam days- per year at least 35 days. Days left 46.

8. Quarterly, Half yearly and festival (holidays)-40 days.Balance 6 days.

9. For sickness- at least 3 days. Remaining days=3.

10. Movies and functions - at least 2 days. 1 day left.

11. That 1 day is your birthday.

How can you study on that day ??????!!!!!!!!!!

Plus one ( + 1 )

Plus one is nothing but your performance or achievement plus one level of performance or achievement. In our life we achieve a lot of things and we are happy about them – Nothing wrong about that, but next time we have to perform little better than last time. This is something like Bench marking – and beating it and setting a new Benchmark.

In Studies, Gym, Work, Games, Faily, Life ... Little extra effort will prove the difference, so we have to work for that bit extra effort. Plus one will mean a lot to our character, we will learn to be a winner in Life. We can feel the difference, but we cannot be plus one in every activity in Life, but we can prioritize the top ones and we can try to achieve a little extra every time. This concept helps companies to perform extra, serve their customer extra, and satisfy stakeholders extra ... So i will slowly start practicing Plus one in my Work .... It will surely help me !!

Its great fun out here in Chennai and IBS as Cricket is the hot topic in Our Institution and Groups. It’s a great fun watching this amazing game. Last test was a shocker for India. But the second test turned very thrilling today.

We can expect some result in this match. I hope India wins. Lets all cheer for India ..... GO India GO. I will be eagerly waiting for Tendulkar to get his century to attain another milestone. We all are cheering here for India.

Go India Go. Pak down down !!

The drama recounts the years of his life from the late 1920s through the 1940s, an epoch when Hughes was directing and producing Hollywood movies and test flying innovative aircrafts he designed and created.

Mailing Spree !!

When I hear from my friends that I never mail them, I sit and think what do I do? Am I so Busy? ----- But actually If u see, A MBA student will have work, some Project, Assignment, Group activity, Case study, Presentation or some kind of a work – at least going to movies or having Fun. So I didn’t mail very often, even my online presence went down. On an average a IBS/MBA student will spend About 4-5 hrs in actual class room ie. in Lectures. Rest of time goes in campus or Library or lab or Hostel (Sleeping) or with Friends

Finally when there is no work (Currently for me), I can very well see a difference, I started mailing everyone – Past 2 days I am before a computer at least for 6 hrs. It’s real fun as we get close with all our friends. My mail box is also getting ful Day 'n' Day !!

DID U GET MY MAIL ?

Sun shines when i am blind

Airtel (Both Mobile and Telephone & Broadband) have come for placemnt and then want a team of students from all specializations. I did project with them for 6 months including Feb 2004, we tried hard for Management Trainee designation in Air tel Chennai.

ICFAI Chennai is Registered in Bharti : Airtel campus list, so regional centers didn’t have powers to recruit us into Direct Bharti role. We were offered associate roles for some months the promised to pull up. Since the offer was too low and my Boss was not willing to pay us so low, he advice us to get another job and then to decide about Air tel. Now I am place in Chola, when there are only 8 open for placement Airtel has come and asking for a lot of people. Now the Airtel sun is shining when I am Blind at Chola.

I have sent my resume and Job profile to my Inst. Placement co-coordinators, but they rejected my offer telling that Chola is a better job. In Placment, we will always get a Job which is best for us. I will join Chola on 15th March .... Its fun to have 2 offers ---- i just missed it, but some of my friends really made it !!

I am Placed

Finally got some time to announce it officially

I got an offer from Cholamandalam Investments and Financial Services, in Cholamandalam AMC. My Job Profile it to Sell Mutual Funds to Distributors and manage the Channel of Mutual Funds, Designation for First 6 months is Executive Trainee and then Assistant manager - Cholamandalam AMC.

I liked the profile as its is Sales to Channel members: Distributors are the people who Sell the Funds to Investors. So it’s a Professional Profile. Assistant manager Designation I liked it so Much, Pay part of it is not the Best in our Institute, but the Profile, Company, Group, Industry is good. Incentives in Mutual funds Selling will be very high, so I got a good marketing career.

In Mutual Funds we have the following channel:

1. SEBI (Securities Exchange Board of India) who regulates the market

2. AMC (Asset managing Company) who creates and manages the Funds, we have comapnies like Sundaram, Chola, Reliance, TATA, Franklin Templeton, JM Morgan Stanley, ICICI and creator of mutual funds in India UTI

3. Distributors (All companies who sell Mutual funds)

4. Investors (Final Customer, who invest in Funds)

My 5 months and Effort of Project with Airtel, is coming to an end as i am doing my Management Research Project at Airtel Telephone and Broadband Services. I have told them that i will be joining Cholamanadalam on 4th April. So my Boss Senior manager Airtel told me that, by next week airtel will make a offer.

Last few Days

When I completed my B.Com in the year 2003, I had quite a great Farewell. It was touchy. I was sure that I will have same fun in MBA. But in MBA at IBS-C I had fun but it was very different. Finally now after almost 2 yrs of tough life and hard learning, we are coming towards a great climax.

On Saturday, 29 th of Jan 2005 we had our last class – Business Ethics and corporate governance. We took group photos. It’s only one Section of IBS-C general MBA class. We went to conference hall – took photos, Sprayed snow, Danced, Kicked certain guys and played for a while.

Its always fun being with friends, that too college days will be remembered for years. These funny moments are to be remembered throughout our life. After college we will have Days, Weeks, Months and Years of sick corporate pressure, work and Tension. We decided to capture some of that fun. We now have to maintain good contacts with our friends in MBA then we can look up to these photos and say ----- Hey see VP-Marketing, VP-HR, VP-Finance, CEO, COO, MD, President of Big Indian corporate and MNC.

Turn your Head 360 Degree

In companies, there is a fixed component and Variable component. Generally in Marketing, people push their limits to achieve maximum of variable component. I am still continuing that part time Project with Airtel. Our Head Sr. Manager of retention Mr.Manoj has a very good opinion on my Friend Ram and me in the company as we are MBA's and we guys work hard.

But we were generally creating an opinion that job in Airtel is not that tough or pressurizing. Last week on Friday he gave us some work. Generally there will be a Team leader coordinating us and we have incentives for our work. So last month, we did a great job – we got appreciation and Incentives, we performed better than his expectations. But this time, we didn’t even bother, as there is no Incentives or coordinator or sure Deadline.

Suddenly today he asked to close all the cases!! Then we gave our own reasons for not doing the Job. He gave good Doses and asked to complete everything at the latest by 3.00 pm today. And ...................... We did it (From 10.00 am to 3.00 pm 100% concentration)

Mr.Manoj actually wanted us to be disciplined as individuals and work for satisfaction not money!! So it was a great and tough day. He wanted to watch us perform with and without Push + Incentives. So when I join campus job I will be very careful with this aspect. In the first 1 yr. there will be no incentives so I got to break my head to satisfy my Boss. But Mr.Manoj left us with a pat in the shoulder at the end of the day... He praised us for our Dedication, finally he told - guys you did well!!

----- But still its Pain to hear that there are no incentives ……. ha ha ha ha. Joke apart I feel its very important for us to perform very well as companies evaluates us in 360-degree approach.

E-Serve Results

5 students of my Institution (IBS-C) 3 Guys and 2 Girls made it through E-Serve, 6 from IBS-H, 6 from IBS-B, 6 from IBS-Mum, some from IBS-K, other centers, 2 from LIBA and few other B-Schools. All the students are happy about to pay part of it. As I said before they will get 28 on hand every month and upto 90 k at the end of a year, E-Serve took 9 from IBS-C last yr, they have kept up the commitment of the Pay.

My Question to all BPO guys is ..... Will other sectors accept BPO Experience, there are a lot of BOP in India, so these Guys can shift between them, but can they Shift to ; 'old Economy' companies in India ------ time alone can answer my question.

BEST OF LUCK for those guys, no way they can get such a High pay out of IBS-C (CTC 5.8 Lakhs). Hope the Job takes to the right Direction in the Long term !!

Be it Kolly wood, be it bollywood, or Hollywood. May it be Melody or Rock or Jazz or Instrumental its fun to hear songs.

Be it Songs of Enrique Iglesias, Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, MJ or J'Lo. May be it Dil se or Dil chata hey. May be it Manmadhan or Alaipayuthey, I just Love them. I spend about 1 hr daily hearing songs. When I am tired or not well or scored less marks or lost a Test I hear some songs to get recharged. Even when we are happy during parties we hear songs, during marriage we hear songs. So I want to dedicate one part of my blog to those amazing people who come up with Great songs movie after movie – alum after album!! Certain movies becomes a Hit just because of Songs, A movie entertains a person once or twice when we see them, but the songs just make us happy every time play everywhere ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' WOW I love songs !!

Kolkatta Experience

From 7th to 11th 6 guys from IBS Chennai was on a tour to Kolkatta, Actually we went to IBS - K campus, Our purpose of visit is to attending Presentation by AC Nielson Company and PWC too (But no one was interested to be in Campus for both the days). IBS booked tickets, gave 3000 Rs and Leave also. So its great fun!!

But then the Profile was not as expected (They wanted we guys to do Research in Retail chains in Bombay and Delhi), they pay was also low 2.4 Lakhs plus incentives and bonus and allowances. 3 guys from Chennai and 5 from Calcutta IBS center went to interview, 4 made it through. Hope those guys are happy. I didn’t attend the interview. Calcutta placement cell was not than happy with we guys attending placements over there (Chennai center is ranked above Calcutta)

The whole purpose of my visit is to enjoy Calcutta; I have never gone beyond Goa and Hyderabad. Once when I was Young we went to Maharastra, but then I wanted to enjoy Calcutta. We went to Victoria memorial Hall (Great historic place, beautiful artifacts and Pictures) then to Church (Didn’t enter inside) then to Durga temple (Very famous in Calcutta - [people go inside with shoes also) finally to Hanging bridge. I went in all possible transport - Tram, Metro, Bus and Taxi.

The Best part of Calcutta is the sweets and Climate. South part of the city is very dirty and fully populated, but North is modern and well developed. I stayed in South Indian club (Good south Indian food). Had good Bengali sweets and Food, people are good, they helped us a lot, People are very Fair and good looking (Girls never the less were cute). I don’t smoke or booze, so some of my friends enjoyed that part too. We 6 guys as a team have good fun all these days. But the train Journey was an adventure (3 trains while going and 2 while coming back : we didn’t get direct trains)

----- Now back again with classes, presentation and case studies!!

Desk Research

Its time to look at the End of my MBA in ICFAI. The final semester is going on, but we have formally started our final Projects. Its called as the MRP (Management Research Projects).

I ma not yet officially placed, so have decided to do a project in Telecom, it will be basically a desk research with few field visits. If I am placed in between then i have to handle 2 projects. So its little complex. My final semester ends on Feb 15. From then ; till end of March we will have to take up Full time Projects. I am currently doing project for Airtel, its easy to collect data from Airtel than any other telephone company. Life is going good. But little pressure due to Job, College and Placements!!
